Salabhasana

Salabhasana (Locust Pose)-1

Lie prone and place both the hand underneath the thighs, the chin should rest on the ground. Inhale and raise the right leg up; the leg should not bend at knee. Remain in this position for 10-30 seconds. After returning to the normal position, do it again with the left leg. Practice its 5-6 rounds. Both the legs should be joined together without any bending from the knees, keep palms upward or inward as one’s comfort (all fingers should be joined together) now raise them, the part of body below the navel will now be raised, this practice is called as Salabhasana (Locust Pose)-1

Salabhasana (Locust Pose)-2

Lie prone abdomen and straighten the right hand while touching the head and the ear. Keep the left hand on the back. While inhaling, lift the head and right hand from the front and from the near end, lift the left leg above the ground level. Remain in this position for some time and very slowly comeback to the normal position. Similarly, repeat this exercise from the left side as well, this asana is called as Salabhasana (Locust Pose)-2.

Salabhasana (Locust Pose)-3

Lie prone and take both the hands behind and hold the wrists of one hand with the other. Inhale and lift the chest as much as possible, stretch hands behind and look upward, this process is called as Salabhasana (Locust Pose)-3
