Ingredients
1/2 cup moong dal (peeled) | 1 tsp ghee or coconut oil | 1/2 tsp cumin seeds |
1/2 tsp turmeric powder | 1/2 tsp ginger (grated) | 1 pinch asafoetida |
3-4 cups water | Salt to taste | Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish) |
Recipe Step By Step
Step 1
Wash the moong dal thoroughly and soak it for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, turmeric, ginger and asafoetida and fry it.
Step 3
Add the soaked dal and fry it for 2-3 minutes
Step 4
Add water and salt and let it boil. Then cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes.
Step 5
Serve hot and garnish with fresh coriander leaves
